Two builders, different bets
VibeDream vs Lovable compares two chat-first builders that make different bets. Pick Lovable if your web app needs a full managed backend: Lovable Cloud switches on a database, login, storage and functions without leaving the builder. Pick VibeDream if you are making a game, or want to build by voice note or screenshot: it writes React + FastAPI web apps and Phaser games, and publishing is a flat 5 credits per update with your own domain on both plans.
In short: a customer portal or SaaS app with logins goes to Lovable. A game, a landing page, a waitlist, a fan or supporter page, or a small app with a Python backend you can read goes to VibeDream.
Checked Oct 2026. Lovable facts come from lovable.dev/pricing and Lovable's plans and credits docs. VibeDream facts come from our pricing page and getting started guide.
The dog grooming booking page test
The fairest way to choose is to give both the same prompt on the same day. A good one: "A booking page for my dog grooming studio with services, prices and a booking form." It is short, realistic, and touches layout, content and a form.
On VibeDream you tap New Project, choose Direct Prompt and paste it, or record it as a voice note. The live preview starts in seconds and fills in as the AI builds. Switch between desktop and phone view, then ask for changes such as "make the header darker" or "add a contact page".
On Lovable you paste the same prompt into the chat and watch the preview. Lovable lists example costs on its pricing page: 0.50 credits to make a button gray, 1.20 to add sign up and login, 1.70 for a landing page with three generated images.
For each, write down minutes to the first working preview, follow-up messages to get it right, and what it cost. Then submit the booking form from a phone.
Where Lovable is ahead today
The backend is where the two differ most.
Lovable Cloud is live today. Lovable lists a database, storage, authentication, realtime and functions, plus secrets and logs, and says it is built on Supabase's open-source foundation. Usage draws from your credit balance, with 20 Cloud credits a month included on every plan.
VibeDream apps have a FastAPI backend in Python, written by the AI as part of your project. Templates such as the Aesthetic Waitlist save signups automatically. For photo and document uploads there is file storage with your plan, 25GB on All Access Mini and 1TB on All Access. One-tap login and database work today, and one-tap payments are coming soon.
So both tools now give you login and a database without setup. Lovable Cloud adds server functions inside the builder, and VibeDream's one-tap payments are coming soon.
Publishing, domains and getting the code
VibeDream: tap Put it online, pick a name for your address, such as your-app.vibedreams.ai, and press Put it online for 5 credits. It usually takes 1 to 3 minutes and HTTPS is set up for you. Your live site stays on that version until you press Update it, so half-finished changes never leak out. To use your own domain, open Put it online, then Your own domain, and add the TXT and CNAME records shown at your registrar. VibeDream checks automatically and switches on HTTPS. The deployment guide has every screen.
Lovable publishes from the editor, and says hosting for most smaller apps is covered by the grant in a subscription. Custom domains and removing the "Edit with Lovable" badge start on Pro.
For code, VibeDream's Code tab shows every file. Use Export and Download ZIP, or tap GitHub to sync to your own repository. Lovable syncs to GitHub, GitLab or Bitbucket on every plan, with code editing inside Lovable from Pro.
$49 against $25
VibeDream has two monthly plans:
- All Access Mini: $49 a month, 60 credits, up to 3 active projects, 25GB storage.
- All Access: $97 a month, 150 credits, up to 5 active projects, 1TB storage.
Yearly billing is $297 and $497 a year. There is no free plan. Publishing costs 5 credits per update; hosting and the vibedreams.ai address are included.
Lovable has a Free plan with 5 build credits a day, up to 30 a month. Pro is $25 a month for 100 credits, or $21 billed yearly, and scales up to 10,000 credits. Business starts at $50 a month and adds single sign-on.
On price alone Lovable starts lower and has a free plan. VibeDream's plans include storage, hosting and your own domain on both tiers, which Lovable starts at Pro, so compare the whole month, including how often you plan to publish.
How long credits last on each
Both products bill in credits, with different rules worth knowing before you buy.
Lovable's monthly plan credits roll over and expire two months after they are issued, annual plan credits expire one month after the annual period ends, and top-up credits last twelve months. Daily build credits do not roll over. Credits are shared across a workspace with unlimited members.
On VibeDream, your plan's credits cover building, and each publish costs 5 credits. If you run low, credit packs are a one-time purchase: 50 credits for $30, 200 for $99, 450 for $199 or 1,000 for $399, and pack credits last a year.
One habit saves credits on both: build in focused sessions with clear requests, and publish once you are happy rather than after every small tweak.
Who should choose Lovable anyway
Choose Lovable if you want server functions managed for you, want a free plan before paying, or need Git sync to GitLab or Bitbucket as well as GitHub. Choose VibeDream if games are part of the plan, if you think out loud better than you type, or if you want the backend as Python you can read. If you get stuck on VibeDream, a real person answers through the support page.
Moving between them
Lovable projects sync to Git, so you can take the React code anywhere. Parts that rely on Lovable Cloud keep pointing at it until you replace them. To bring a Lovable project to VibeDream, describe the app in a new project and attach screenshots of your key screens. The AI rebuilds it page by page, and you keep the original running until the new one is ready.
