Base44 is ahead for internal tools
VibeDream vs Base44 comes down to what you are making. If it is an internal tool, a client tracker or a simple CRM that needs logins and actions in Gmail, Slack, Notion or HubSpot, Base44 is the better pick right now, because that plumbing comes bundled on every plan. If it is a game, a launch page, a waitlist or a small web app where you want the code in your hands, VibeDream is the better pick: it writes React + FastAPI apps and Phaser games and gives you the files on its entry plan.
Checked Oct 2026. Base44 facts come from base44.com/pricing, which lists yearly prices. VibeDream facts come from our pricing page and getting started guide.
The same prompt on both
Run one prompt on both on the same day: "A booking page for my dog grooming studio with services, prices and a booking form." Then try a game: "A space shooter where I dodge asteroids and collect stars for points." For each, note minutes to a working preview, follow-up messages and what it cost, and test the result on a phone.
On VibeDream the preview starts in seconds and fills in as the AI builds. You can switch between desktop and phone view and ask for changes by chat or voice. The game is built with Phaser and is playable in the preview.
On Base44 you get a working app with screens and data, and you refine it by chat and in the visual editor. From Starter up you can make code edits in the app.
Backend, login and integrations
This is where Base44 leads today, and it is worth saying plainly. Base44's FAQ says it builds the full app, including the backend, database, user login and payments, on production infrastructure. Its integration credits power actions such as sending an email or posting to Slack: 2,000 a month on Starter, 10,000 on Builder.
VibeDream apps include a FastAPI backend in Python, written into your project, so a form that saves signups or bookings works without extra setup. The Aesthetic Waitlist template is a good example. File storage for uploads comes with your plan: 25GB on All Access Mini and 1TB on All Access. One-tap login and database work today, and one-tap payments are coming soon. The gap that matters now is built-in actions in tools like Gmail or HubSpot, which Base44 has and VibeDream does not.
Hosting, domains and code
Base44 hosts what you build, lets you keep apps private, share them with a team or publish them, and includes connecting a domain on every paid plan, plus a domain included for the first year.
VibeDream hosts what you build too. Tap Put it online, pick a name for your vibedreams.ai address and press the button for 5 credits. It usually takes 1 to 3 minutes and HTTPS is set up for you. The live site stays on that version until you press Update it. For your own domain, add the TXT and CNAME records shown at your registrar, and VibeDream switches on HTTPS when it is ready. The deployment guide shows each step.
On code, VibeDream shows every file in the Code tab, with Export, Download ZIP and GitHub sync on both plans. Base44's FAQ says two-way GitHub sync exports the full source, and its pricing page lists GitHub integration from Builder up.
What $16 and $49 actually buy
VibeDream:
- All Access Mini: $49 a month, 60 credits, 3 active projects, 25GB storage.
- All Access: $97 a month, 150 credits, 5 active projects, 1TB storage.
- Yearly: $297 and $497 a year. No free plan. Credit packs from 50 credits for $30.
- Hosting, the vibedreams.ai address and your own domain included; 5 credits per publish.
Base44, billed yearly:
- Free: $0, 25 message credits, 100 integration credits, up to 5 apps.
- Starter: $16 a month, 100 message credits, 2,000 integration credits.
- Builder: $40 a month, 250 message credits, GitHub integration.
- Pro: $80 a month. Elite: $160 a month.
Base44 is cheaper to start and has a free plan; VibeDream has none. The gap narrows once you want the code: GitHub on Base44 starts at Builder, $40 a month billed yearly, while VibeDream includes the Code tab, ZIP download and GitHub sync at $49 a month. If you never plan to look at the code, that difference does not matter and Base44 Starter is the better deal.
Starting points
VibeDream's template gallery has seven finished pages you change by chatting, including the Aesthetic Landing Page, the Fan Page and the Blank Starter, a clean React and FastAPI project with front end and backend already connected. The donation, supporter and checkout templates show the full layout today, but taking payments on them waits for the payments module.
Base44 starts most projects from a description, and its visual editor lets you adjust layouts directly once the first version exists.
Fixing a price from your phone
VibeDream works in a phone browser. Chat and Preview tabs switch between the AI and your app, and you can record a voice note or attach a photo of a sketch instead of typing. Small fixes, like a price change on a booking page, are easy to do from a phone. Try Base44 on your phone too before you decide; how it feels there is something only you can judge.
Where each one is the wrong tool
Base44 is the wrong tool for games, and for anyone who wants to read or export code on a starter budget, since GitHub sync starts on Builder. VibeDream is the wrong tool for an internal app that needs CRM actions or a free plan to test with first. If you are unsure which camp your idea is in, write down the three screens you need most. If any of them says "log in", start on Base44.
Getting help when it breaks
On VibeDream, copy the error, paste it into the chat and the AI fixes it. Your live site keeps the last published version until you press Update it, so visitors never see a broken build. If you are still stuck, email hello@vibedream.ai or open a ticket and a real person answers.
Base44 lists debugging and troubleshooting tools on every plan, and premium support on Elite. Check how quickly each one answers a real question before you commit a business app to it.
Moving from Base44 to VibeDream
If you are on Base44's Builder plan or above, sync the project to GitHub first so you keep the source. Then start a new VibeDream project, describe the app, and attach screenshots of the main screens. Rebuild page by page and import your data once the pages work. Base44 integrations, such as email or CRM actions, need to be recreated with the services' own API keys, which you add in API keys and settings.
