Carrd website builder alternatives for one-page sites

Most people should stay on the Carrd website builder: at $19 a year it is hard to beat for one page. Switch when the page needs to store signups, grow into several pages or become a small app, and pick the alternative by which of those you need.

Carrd website builder alternatives for one-page sites

Stay on Carrd unless you need one of these

The Carrd website builder is still one of the best deals on the web for a simple one-page site, and most people should stay on it. Pro plans start at $9 a year, and Pro Standard, with your own domain and forms, is $19 a year. People who look for a Carrd alternative are rarely unhappy with the page itself. They have hit the point where it needs to do more: keep signups somewhere they can see them, show a live count, grow into several pages or become a small app.

Here is the quick guide by what you are trying to build:

  • A one-page site or link-in-bio that just needs to look good. Stay on Carrd. It is hard to beat on price.
  • A waitlist or launch page that stores signups and shows a count. VibeDream, starting from the Aesthetic Waitlist template.
  • A landing page that will grow into a web app with logins. Lovable or VibeDream.
  • A quick prototype with a generous allowance to experiment. Bolt.new.
  • A members area or client portal on top of a spreadsheet or Airtable. Softr.

Checked Oct 2026. Carrd details come from carrd.com/pro and Carrd's forms documentation. Other prices come from each company's pricing page on the same date.

What Carrd does well, and where it stops

Carrd is built for one-page sites, and it does them very well. You pick a template, edit blocks, and publish. A free account can publish up to three sites with Carrd branding. Pro removes the branding and adds more sites, custom domains with SSL, analytics, embeds and forms.

The limits show up around forms and data. According to Carrd's docs:

  • Contact forms need Pro Standard or higher, and send messages to your email.
  • Signup forms send addresses to an email marketing service such as Mailchimp, Kit or beehiiv.
  • Advanced forms come with Pro Plus and can pass data on to services such as Zapier, Make, n8n or Airtable.
  • Payments run through embedded widgets from providers such as Stripe, PayPal or Gumroad.

In each case the data goes somewhere else: your inbox, an email tool, Airtable or an automation. Carrd's docs do not describe a place inside Carrd where submissions are stored and listed. For a contact form that is fine. For a waitlist where you want to see every signup, count them on the page and export them later, you end up stitching tools together.

The other limit is shape. Carrd is a one-page builder at heart. If your site needs several pages with shared navigation, user accounts or anything that runs on a server, you are outside what it is designed for.

Carrd alternatives compared

Prices are for the cheapest plan that removes the builder's branding and lets you use your own domain, as of October 2026.

  • Carrd, Pro Standard at $19 a year: 10 sites, custom domain, forms and embeds. No backend of its own; form data goes to email or other services. No code export.
  • VibeDream, All Access Mini at $49 a month: 60 credits, 3 active projects, your own domain and a vibedreams.ai address. Each app has a FastAPI backend in code, and the waitlist template stores signups itself. Code tab, ZIP and GitHub sync.
  • Lovable, Pro at $25 a month or $21 billed yearly: custom domains and no badge. Lovable Cloud supplies the database, login and storage, and Git sync is on every plan.
  • Bolt.new, Pro at $18 a month billed yearly: your own domain and no Bolt branding, with databases listed on every plan. For code export, check Bolt's help center.
  • Softr, Basic at $19 a month: a custom domain, but removing Softr branding needs Pro at $99. Data lives in Softr Databases or your Airtable and Sheets. No code export.

Carrd is in a different price league: a year of Pro Standard costs less than one month of any of the others. You pay more elsewhere because you get a backend, more pages, or an AI that builds for you.

Where VibeDream fits, and where it does not

VibeDream is an AI builder. Instead of dragging blocks, you describe the page in plain words, by typing, recording a voice note or attaching a screenshot of a page you like, and a live preview appears in seconds. That screenshot option is handy when moving from Carrd: attach a capture of your current site and ask for the same layout.

The part Carrd does not have is the backend. Every VibeDream app is built with React + FastAPI, so the server side is part of the project. The Aesthetic Waitlist template is a dark, glowing waitlist page with email signup, a live signup count, a features preview and FAQ, and signups are saved automatically with no setup. You can change any of it by chatting: "make it light", "add a referral question", "change the headline".

Going live takes one screen. Tap Put it online, pick a name for your address, such as your-launch.vibedreams.ai, and press the button for 5 credits. It usually takes 1 to 3 minutes and HTTPS is set up for you. To use your own domain, open Put it online, then Your own domain, and add the TXT and CNAME records shown at your registrar. VibeDream checks automatically and switches on HTTPS when it is ready. The deployment guide shows each screen, including the custom domain steps.

Where it does not fit:

  • If all you need is a one-page site with a contact form, Carrd is far cheaper. VibeDream starts at $49 a month and has no free plan; the pricing page lists both plans.
  • Taking real card payments inside the page, such as tips, donations or a checkout, through built-in payments is coming soon. You can connect your own Stripe account for real payments now.

Other honest picks

Lovable is a good choice if your landing page is the front door to a web app that will need user accounts soon. Its Free plan gives 5 build credits a day, up to 30 a month, and Pro adds custom domains. Lovable Cloud supplies a database, login and storage. Our VibeDream vs Lovable page compares the two in detail.

Bolt.new suits people who want to try several page ideas cheaply. Its Free plan includes 1M tokens a month and website hosting, with Bolt branding on sites until you upgrade to Pro. See VibeDream vs Bolt.new for how the two differ.

Softr suits a members-only area or directory on top of data you already keep in Airtable or Google Sheets. It counts app users and records by plan, starting with 5 app users and 5K records on Free.

And Carrd itself, on Pro Plus at $49 a year, covers more than people expect: 25 sites and advanced forms that can pass signups on to Airtable or an automation tool. If an Airtable base is a fine place for your signups, that may be all you need, and it costs less than a month of anything else here.

How to test before you switch

Pick the page you would actually launch, and build it on two tools on the same day. A fair prompt for an AI builder is: "A launch page for my productivity app with a headline, three feature cards, an email signup that saves addresses and shows how many people joined, and a short FAQ." Then check:

  • Minutes until the first working version.
  • Whether a test signup appears where you expect it, and still shows after a reload.
  • How the page looks on your phone.
  • What it costs to put it on your own domain.

Doing this once tells you more than any list, including this one. If you are weighing full app builders rather than page builders, our guide to the best AI app builders covers nine of them, and the getting started guide shows how a VibeDream project goes from prompt to live site.

How to move a project off Carrd

1. Save what you have. Copy your text, download your images, and take full-page screenshots of the desktop and phone versions. 2. Export your signups from wherever they go today, whether that is your email tool, Airtable or your inbox. 3. Build the new page. On VibeDream, start from a template or attach your screenshots and describe the page. On other builders, recreate it the same way. 4. Test it on the builder's own address first, such as a vibedreams.ai link, and send a test signup. 5. Move the domain last. Remove Carrd's DNS records for that domain at your registrar and add the new builder's records. On VibeDream that is one TXT and one CNAME record, and HTTPS turns on automatically once it verifies. 6. Keep Carrd running until the new site is live on your domain, then unpublish the old site.
