A model portfolio website needs four things: a comp card section with your stats and city, a short gallery led by your strongest current images, recent digitals in plain light, and an inquiry form for bookings or agency contact. Scouts and bookers see many models a week and decide quickly, so a booker on a phone should find your height, your city and a way to reach you within ten seconds. Below is what they check, how to lay it out, and a prompt you can paste into VibeDream to build it, with a form that saves every request.
What agencies and clients check first
- Your current look. Digitals taken in the last few months, with minimal makeup in plain light, matter as much as editorial shots.
- Stats. Height, and the measurements your market uses, plus hair and eye colour, shoe size and the city you are based in.
- Range, shown with restraint. Two or three looks done well beat twenty similar shots.
- Representation status. If you have an agency, say which and how to reach them. If not, say you are seeking representation.
- Professionalism. Correct spelling, working links and photographers credited.
The comp card section
A comp card is a one-page summary: a lead headshot, three or four supporting images and your stats. On a website it should sit near the top of the home page and also exist as a downloadable PDF that bookers can save.
- Lead image: a clear headshot or three-quarter shot, face visible, current.
- Supporting images: a full-length shot, a smiling shot, a profile, and one that shows your niche (commercial, fitness, editorial, runway).
- Stats in a simple table: height in both centimetres and feet and inches if you work internationally, then measurements, hair, eyes, shoes.
- Location and travel: based in Milan, available in Paris and London.
- A Download comp card button linking to a PDF version.
Keep the stats accurate. Bookers measure at castings, and a mismatch costs more than an honest number ever would.
Gallery layouts
- Lead with your best eight to twelve images in a portrait grid, since most model photos are vertical.
- Give digitals their own clearly labelled page or row.
- Group by category if you work across several: editorial, commercial, beauty, runway.
- Make every image open full screen with swipe on phones. Many bookers browse on phones between castings.
- Credit the photographer, and stylist where relevant, in the full-screen caption.
Build it with AI
In VibeDream, tap New Project, choose Direct Prompt and paste a brief like this, or start from the Aesthetic Landing Page template and ask for it to be stripped back to black and white with a portrait grid. You can also say it out loud with the microphone. Attach a few of your photos so the AI can choose a look that suits them.
A model portfolio website for Amara Diallo, a fashion and commercial model based in Milan, seeking representation. Home: full-height lead photo, name, Based in Milan, a comp card section with four images and stats (height 178 cm / 5 ft 10 in, bust, waist, hips, hair, eyes, shoes) and a Download comp card button. Portfolio page: portrait grid, tap for full screen with swipe and photographer credit. Digitals page. About with a short bio. Contact page with a booking inquiry form: name, company, email, job type, dates, location, message. Minimal, black and white, elegant serif headings. Phone first.- Attach your images in the order you want them, and paste the photographer credit for each.
- Ask for a private upload page where you can add your comp card PDF, and for the Download button to link to the latest file.
- Ask for the stats to be a neat two-column table on phones.
- Ask for the booking form to save each inquiry and list them on a private page behind a passcode.
The live preview updates as you go. Switch it to phone view, as in the screenshot above, because that is how many bookers will see it. If you will update photos often, ask for a private upload page; uploads use the storage that comes with your plan, explained in the file uploads guide.
Test the site like a booker
Before you send the link to agencies, open it on your phone and time yourself. Can you find your height, your city and a way to get in touch within ten seconds? Does every image open full screen and swipe to the next? Does the comp card download? Ask a friend who has never seen it to do the same. Anything that takes them longer than it took you is worth one prompt to fix.
The inquiry form
Ask for the fields a booker needs to quote a job: company, job type, usage, dates, location and budget. If you are represented, many models route all inquiries to the agency instead, so the contact page may just show the agency's details. If you want each inquiry emailed to you too, connect an email sending service and add its key in project settings, as described in the API keys guide.
For safety, do not publish your home address or personal phone number. A form plus a professional email address is enough. Be wary of inquiries that ask for payment up front; legitimate clients and agencies do not charge models to be booked.
Choosing and ordering your photos
Order matters as much as selection. Bookers often look at the first three images and the digitals, then decide. Put your strongest, most current image first, then alternate close-ups and full-length shots so the grid shows both your face and your proportions.
- Lead with a clean, well-lit image that looks like you today.
- Follow with one full-length, one smiling commercial shot and one editorial shot.
- Keep a consistent edit. Heavy retouching on some images and none on others looks uneven.
- Remove anything older than about two years unless it is a standout tear sheet.
- Credit every photographer, and only use images you have permission to publish.
- Ask the photographer for web-sized files, or compress them before uploading, so the gallery loads quickly on phones.
Common mistakes on model websites
- Stats that do not match a fresh measurement at the casting.
- Digitals that are actually styled shots with makeup and filters.
- Too many similar images from one shoot.
- No city or travel information, so bookers do not know if you are available.
- An inquiry form that is never checked. Ask for new inquiries to show a count on your private page, and check it daily.
- Personal contact details published openly instead of a form and a professional email address.
Pages to leave out
Model sites work best short. A blog you will not update, a long list of every shoot, rate cards and social feeds embedded on the home page all slow bookers down. If you post often on social media, a simple link is enough. Keep the site to the comp card, portfolio, digitals, about and contact, and make each one excellent.
Publish and keep it current
- Press Put it online for an address like amara-diallo.vibedreams.ai with HTTPS. Each publish or update costs 5 credits.
- Connect a domain with your name, such as www.amaradiallo.com, using a TXT and a CNAME record. The deployment guide covers it.
- Update digitals every few months, or whenever your hair or look changes.
- Put the link in your social bios and in every email to agencies.
VibeDream plans start at $49 a month. For other creative portfolios, see the art portfolio website guide or how to make a portfolio website.
