A workshop or a front-end bench
Replit vs v0 is a comparison between a whole workshop and a very good front-end bench. Pick v0 if you want beautiful interfaces and already live in the Vercel world: it builds web apps with Next.js, Tailwind and shadcn/ui, with a visual Design Mode, GitHub sync and one-click deploys to Vercel. Pick Replit if your project has real backend logic or is not a website at all: its agent writes and runs code in many languages, sets up databases and deploys from the same tab.
Checked Oct 2026. Replit details come from replit.com/pricing and its docs. v0 details come from v0.app/pricing and v0's docs.
Scope, backends and seats
- Scope. Replit: any language, web apps, APIs, bots and scripts. v0: web apps with Next.js, Tailwind, shadcn/ui and more.
- Backend. Replit: built in the workspace, with Replit databases and rollback on Pro. v0: connect your own APIs and databases.
- Hosting. Replit: autoscale, static and reserved deployments, plus custom domains. v0: one-click deploys to Vercel.
- Free plan. Replit: none listed on the pricing page. v0: 7 messages a day, deploys to Vercel, Design Mode and GitHub sync.
- Entry paid plan. Replit Core: $20 a month, or $18 billed yearly. v0 Plus: $30 per user a month with $30 of monthly credits per user.
- Team plan. Replit Pro: $100 a month, up to 15 collaborators. v0 Business: $100 per user a month.
Where v0 is better
v0 is designed around the interface. Design Mode lets you adjust layouts and styles visually, and the components it writes use shadcn/ui and Tailwind, which many React developers already know. The result is code a front-end team can review in a pull request and keep.
Replit's agent can write a good front end too, in React or another framework, but the workspace is not tuned around visual editing. You judge the interface in the preview pane and ask for changes, or edit the files directly.
Where Replit is better
This is where Replit pulls ahead for full apps. The agent sets up the server, the database and the routes inside the same workspace, and Replit Pro adds database rollback of up to 28 days. Because it runs real code, a Python API, a background job or a WebSocket server is all fair game.
v0's docs describe connecting a backend to build data-driven apps and using your own APIs, databases and components. That works well when a backend already exists, or when you are happy to add one through a provider. For a solo builder starting from zero, it is an extra decision.
Vercel deploys or Replit deployments
Replit's pricing page does not list publishing costs. Its deployment docs describe autoscale deployments billed on usage, static deployments and reserved machines, and custom domains that point at a published app.
v0 deploys with one click to Vercel, either straight to production or as a pull request for review. Domains, environment variables and hosting limits are managed in the Vercel project, under Vercel's own plans.
Token rates against model credits
Replit Core at $20 a month includes $20 toward more powerful models and up to 30 hours of chat on Free Mode. Pro at $100 a month includes $100 toward the most powerful models, ten parallel agents and up to 15 collaborators. Publishing is billed on top by deployment type.
v0 bills model usage at per-model token rates. Its pricing page lists v0 Mini at $0.20 per million input tokens and $1.20 per million output, v0 Pro at $2 and $10, and v0 Max at $5 and $25. Plus and Business both include $30 of monthly credits per user and $2 of daily credits on login, and you can buy more. Hosting on Vercel is a separate bill.
For a team the per-user pricing matters most. Three people on v0 Plus pay $90 a month, then add a database provider and Vercel hosting. Three people on Replit Pro pay $100 a month in total, with the backend in the workspace and publishing billed by use. For one person building front ends, v0 is the cheaper and nicer tool.
Shared rooms and review flows
Replit is built around a shared workspace. On Pro, up to 15 collaborators can build in the same project and up to 50 viewers can look in, and everyone sees the same running app. That is handy for classes, hackathons and small teams who want to pair in real time.
v0 is built around a review flow. Plus and Business list chat sharing and team collaboration, with billing on vercel.com, and deploys can go out as a pull request so a teammate approves the change before it ships. Business turns off training on your data by default.
If your team talks in a shared room, Replit fits. If your team works through GitHub reviews, v0 fits. Solo builders can skip this and choose on stack and hosting.
Six projects and where they go
- A landing page or marketing site with great design. v0.
- A dashboard on top of an API you already have. v0.
- A full web app with login, data and background jobs, built from scratch. Replit.
- A bot, a scraper, an API or a Python data tool. Replit.
- A class or a hackathon team working in one shared space. Replit, with up to 15 collaborators on Pro.
- A front-end team that reviews every change in GitHub. v0, with its pull request option.
What a month costs a team of three
Put the per-user maths next to the backend question and most choices make themselves. Solo, front-end only, existing API: v0, from free to $30. Team of three, full app, starting from zero: Replit Pro at $100 for everyone, against $90 in v0 seats plus whatever the database and Vercel cost. Anything that is not a website: Replit, at any team size.
If you would rather not choose a stack
If you do not want to choose a framework, a database or a host, VibeDream is simpler than both. Describe what you want by typing, recording a voice note or attaching a screenshot, and a live preview appears in seconds. Apps are React + FastAPI, so the front end and the Python backend come together, and games are Phaser.
Hosting is part of the plan. Press Put it online, pick a vibedreams.ai name and it is live in a few minutes with HTTPS, at 5 credits per update. Your own domain takes a TXT and a CNAME record, as the deployment guide explains. The code stays yours through the Code tab, ZIP export and GitHub sync.
It is the wrong pick for scripts, bots or services in other languages, and one-tap payments are coming soon. There is no free plan; plans start at $49 a month on the pricing page. The Aesthetic Landing Page template shows what a finished page looks like.
