Finding a FlutterFlow alternative, one yes or no question at a time

A decision tree for choosing a FlutterFlow alternative. Start with whether you need the App Store, then follow the branch to a native builder or a web app builder that fits. FlutterFlow and Adalo prices checked October 2026.

Finding a FlutterFlow alternative, one yes or no question at a time

The right FlutterFlow alternative depends on one question: do your users need to install the app from the App Store or Google Play? If yes, stay with a native builder: Adalo if you want it simpler, Rork if you would rather describe the app in a chat. If no, a web app builder will get you live faster and cheaper. VibeDream, Lovable or Glide, depending on what the app does. Everything below is that tree, branch by branch.

People usually look for a FlutterFlow alternative because of the learning curve (state, backend wiring and some Dart), the per-seat price of team plans, or the separate bills for Firebase or Supabase. Those are fair complaints, but FlutterFlow is still the most capable visual builder for native apps, with Flutter code you can download from the Basic plan at $39 a month. Checked Oct 2026 on flutterflow.io/pricing. Leave for a reason that matches your branch.

Question one, do you need the App Store

  • Your users expect to find the app by searching the App Store or Google Play.
  • It needs reliable push notifications, background tasks or offline use.
  • It uses hardware deeply, such as Bluetooth devices, health data or advanced camera features.
  • A client or employer has specified a store app in the contract.

Answer no if users would be happy opening a link, saving it to the home screen, and using it in the phone's browser. Bookings, directories, dashboards, member areas, quizzes and most internal tools fall here. A no saves you Apple's $99 a year, Google Play's one-time $25, store review delays and a separate build for each platform.

The yes branch, native builders

Second question on this branch: do you want to work visually or by chatting?

  • Visually, and you want the gentlest start: Adalo. Drag-and-drop screens, a built-in database and store publishing. Builder is $65 a month (or $624 billed yearly) with 2 published apps and 5 editors. Business is $200 a month with 5 published apps. Free gives you one app build and 500 records per app.
  • Visually, and you want real code and room to grow: stay on FlutterFlow. Nothing else here matches its depth.
  • By chatting with an AI: Rork, which builds native mobile apps from a description. See our Rork review for its plans and what it generates.
  • Native app plus a full web product sharing one database: Bubble's native mobile editor, with store build submissions included on paid plans. Read the Bubble review first, because there is no code export.

Adalo against FlutterFlow, briefly

Adalo is easier: you can lay out a working app with its own database in an afternoon and publish without touching code. FlutterFlow is more capable: it uses Flutter widgets, connects to Firebase or Supabase, supports custom Dart code and lets you download the project. Adalo's Builder at $65 a month costs more than FlutterFlow's Basic at $39, but includes 5 editors, while FlutterFlow charges per seat on Growth ($80, then $55 for a second seat). Choose Adalo for a simple app you want shipped soon. Choose FlutterFlow if the app will grow complex or a developer may take it over.

The no branch, web app builders

Second question on this branch: what is the app built around?

  • A spreadsheet your team already uses: Glide, from $25 a month for 2 published apps. Its agent builds a desktop and phone app from your Sheets or Excel data.
  • A custom idea with its own logic, where you want the code: VibeDream or Lovable, both chat-based.
  • A client portal on structured data: Softr, with sign-in and permissions built in.

VibeDream is the pick when you want a phone-friendly web app with a Python backend and hosting in one place. You describe it by typing, recording a voice note or adding a picture of a sketch, and it builds a React front end and a FastAPI backend while a live preview shows it at phone size. Putting it online is one tap, 5 credits each time, with hosting and a your-app.vibedreams.ai address included, and a QR code opens the live app on your phone. You can connect your own domain or download the code. It also builds Phaser games. The limits are worth saying plainly: VibeDream does not build native apps or publish to the stores, its one-tap payments are coming soon, and there is no free plan. All Access Mini is $49 a month with 60 credits.

Test your answer before you commit

If you are unsure which branch you are on, build the web version first. It is cheaper, and real users will tell you within a week whether anyone misses a store listing. Use the same brief on a web builder and on a native one:

A habit tracker. Users add habits with a daily or weekly goal, tick them off each day, and see a streak and a 30-day chart. A reminder each evening for habits not done yet. Clean, large tap targets for one-handed use on a phone.

The evening reminder is the deciding feature. If a browser notification or an email would do, stay on the web branch. If it must be a native push notification, take the native branch and budget for the stores.

Leaving FlutterFlow with your work intact

  • On Basic or higher, download the Flutter project before you cancel. It is real code a Flutter developer can keep working on.
  • Your data sits in Firebase or Supabase, not FlutterFlow, so it stays where it is and a new app can connect to it.
  • If you move to the web branch, export the data from Firebase or Supabase and import it into the new tool's backend, then screenshot each FlutterFlow screen to guide the rebuild.
  • Keep your store listings live until the replacement is ready, and plan how existing users will move over.
