This Hostinger website builder review has a short answer: the AI Builder is the cheapest way we know to get AI building, hosting, a domain and business email in one account, and it is good enough for most small business sites and simple web apps. The price only looks that low on a 48-month term paid up front, renewals cost four to five times more, and the AI credits come as a one-time gift rather than a monthly allowance. Buy it if you want a site you set up once and leave alone. Think twice if you plan to keep building with AI every week.
There is a second thing to know before reading older reviews. Hostinger no longer sells Horizons and Website Builder as separate products. Facts below come from hostinger.com's AI Builder page and Hostinger's product update posts, checked Oct 2026. We have not run a timed build.
Before August 2026, two products
Until this summer Hostinger had two builders. Website Builder was the visual, drag and drop tool for classic sites. Horizons was its AI app builder, the one people compared with Lovable and v0, for building web apps by chat. If you search for "Hostinger Horizons" you will still find reviews of it as a standalone product, with its own pricing and credit rules. Those details no longer apply.
After the merge, one AI Builder with two modes
Hostinger's weekly product update for week 34 of 2026 announced that Horizons and Website Builder had become one product, AI Builder, with coverage of the launch dated August 19, 2026. Launch coverage reported Hostinger's reason: non-website projects had grown from under 4% of the platform a year earlier to nearly one in five, so splitting customers between two tools no longer made sense.
The AI Builder FAQ describes it as the result of merging the two into "a single builder with two modes".
- Agentic mode is the old Horizons experience. You describe what you want and the AI builds it. You can start from a prompt, a PDF (a restaurant menu works well), a screenshot, or a link to an existing site.
- Manual mode is the old drag and drop editor. It uses no AI credits at all.
Two details make the merged product better than either half was. Direct text and image edits in the content editor cost no credits even when you are in Agentic mode, so fixing a typo does not burn your allowance. And Hostinger says AI edits happen in a separate environment and only go live when you publish, so an experiment cannot break the live site.
What the plans and credits cover
Prices from hostinger.com in US dollars, all on a 48-month term paid up front. Checked Oct 2026.
- Premium: $2.49 a month, $119.52 up front, renewing at $10.99 a month. Up to 3 websites. 250 AI credits as a one-time gift.
- Unlimited: $3.49 a month, $167.52 up front, renewing at $16.99 a month. Unlimited websites. 500 one-time AI credits.
- Cloud Startup: $7.99 a month, $383.52 up front, renewing at $25.99 a month. Unlimited websites. 1,000 one-time AI credits.
Hosting, a domain, business email and Stripe payments are included on every plan. When we checked, a Black Friday promotion doubled the one-time credits (500, 1,000 and 2,000). Both modes can be tried with no card, with 5 AI credits for Agentic mode. The 30-day money-back guarantee only holds while you have used fewer than 30 credits, so do your serious testing on the free 5.
Hostinger publishes rough credit costs for Agentic mode: a simple business page typically uses 5 to 10 credits, and a complex app such as a SaaS or an internal tool averages 15 or more. Live AI features inside your site, such as a chatbot, also draw credits at fractional rates. On Premium's 250 credits, that is enough to build a handful of pages and revise them several times. It is not enough to keep iterating on an app for years, and you will need to buy more if you build often.
The renewal maths
This is the part most reviews skip. Premium costs $119.52 for the first four years, about $30 a year. After that, at $10.99 a month, it costs about $132 a year. Cloud Startup goes from about $96 a year on the first term to about $312 a year on renewal. The low headline price is a real saving if you would stay four years anyway, and a trap if you only wanted to try something for a year. Shorter terms exist, and they cost more per month.
One more rule to plan around: Hostinger's page says that if the hosting plan expires without renewal, the project becomes inaccessible and all data is permanently deleted. The AI Builder lets you export the source code and self-host it, so export a copy and back up your data before any renewal date.
Who it suits
- Small businesses that want a site, a domain and email in one bill and will keep it for years.
- People who want both a classic site and a small web app, since the same plan does both.
- Anyone who likes starting from an existing document or site. The PDF and link starting points are genuinely handy.
It suits people less well if they build with AI every week (the credits are one-time), want month-to-month pricing, or need a backend in a specific language.
Hostinger, Lovable and VibeDream compared
All three turn a prompt into a website or web app with hosting. They differ in how you pay and what you keep.
- Pricing model. Hostinger is a long-term hosting bundle with a one-time credit gift. Lovable is monthly, with Pro from $25 a month for 100 credits and a Free plan of 5 build credits a day, up to 30 a month. VibeDream, which we make, is monthly, from $49 a month for 60 credits on All Access Mini or $97 for 150 credits on All Access, with no free plan.
- Ongoing building. Lovable and VibeDream refill credits every month. Hostinger does not.
- Backend. Hostinger says you can add databases, user accounts and file storage without separate tools. Lovable has Lovable Cloud. VibeDream gives every app a FastAPI backend in Python that you can read in its code editor, with built-in file storage (25GB on All Access Mini, 1TB on All Access), one-tap login and database, and one-tap payments coming soon.
- Code. Hostinger lets you export the source code. Lovable syncs to Git on every plan and downloads code on paid plans. VibeDream downloads a ZIP or syncs to your own GitHub repository.
- Domains. Hostinger includes one for a year. VibeDream includes hosting and a your-app.vibedreams.ai address, and connects your own www or subdomain address with a TXT and a CNAME record, as the deployment guide shows. Publishing on VibeDream costs 5 credits each time.
The short version: Hostinger for the lowest total cost on a site you rarely change, Lovable for monthly building with a strong design reputation (see our Lovable review), VibeDream if you want a Python backend, games as well as apps, and code you can host anywhere.

A test that shows the difference
Run this on Hostinger's free 5 credits and on one alternative, attaching a menu PDF where the tool accepts one:
A website for a small bakery using the menu in this PDF, with opening hours, a cake pre-order form with a pickup date, and a private page where the owner can see all pre-orders.Check how many credits the first version used, whether pre-orders are saved and only visible to the owner, and then work out the total for year one and for the first renewal year. The last number usually decides it.
