The best vibe coding tools fall into three groups. If you do not write code, pick a browser app builder such as Lovable, Bolt, Base44, Replit or VibeDream, because they run and host the app for you. If you already code, an AI editor or agent such as Cursor, Windsurf or Claude Code will save you more time. If you want to make a game, Rosebud, Astrocade and VibeDream's Phaser games are built for that. The rest of this page explains each pick and what it costs.
We read every price below off the tool's own pricing page or docs on 25 October 2026. These plans change often, so look again before you pay. We did not run timed benchmarks for this list, so you will not find speed scores here.
Quick picks
- Best for a first app with no code: Lovable or VibeDream. Both take a plain-English prompt and show a running preview.
- Best for a full-stack app you also want to host: Replit, which has its own hosting and databases.
- Best for apps with built-in data and login today: Base44, which includes authentication and a database on every plan.
- Best for developers working in their own code: Cursor or Claude Code.
- Best for small browser games: Rosebud, Astrocade or VibeDream games.
- Best if you want React plus a Python backend you can download: VibeDream, which builds apps as React + FastAPI.
How we chose these tools
Vibe coding means you describe what you want, look at what the AI made and steer it with follow-up messages. So we judged each tool on things a non-expert can check before paying.
- Does it run the result for you, or do you need your own computer setup?
- Can you put the app online from inside the tool?
- Do you own the code, and can you take it elsewhere?
- How is usage billed: credits, tokens, messages or a usage quota?
- What does the cheapest paid plan cost on the official page?
We left out tools that only autocomplete lines of code, because that is AI-assisted coding, not vibe coding.

App builders for people who do not code
Lovable
Lovable turns a prompt into a React web app and runs it in the browser. Its docs list a Free plan with 5 build credits a day, capped at 30 a month, and Pro from $25 a month for 100 credits, scaling up to 10,000 credits. Business starts at $50 a month for 100 credits. Lovable Cloud handles data and hosting inside Lovable. Good fit if you want a polished first version and expect to stay on one platform.
Bolt
Bolt by StackBlitz builds and runs full-stack JavaScript apps in the browser. The Free plan gives 1M tokens a month with a 300K daily limit and Bolt branding on sites. Pro is $18 a month billed yearly with 10M tokens and your own domain. Token billing suits people who like to watch usage closely, since long chats on a big project burn tokens faster.
Base44
Base44 builds apps with login, a database and analytics already included, even on the Free plan of 25 message credits. Paid plans run from Starter at $16 a month to Elite at $160 a month on yearly billing, and GitHub integration starts on Builder at $40. Good fit if you need user accounts on day one.
Replit
Replit is a cloud workspace with an agent that writes, runs and hosts code in many languages. Core is $18 a month billed yearly and includes $20 toward models. Pro is $90 a month billed yearly with up to 15 collaborators. It is the most flexible pick on this list, and also the one where you see the most code, which some beginners find a lot.
VibeDream
VibeDream builds apps as React + FastAPI and games with Phaser. You type, talk or attach a screenshot, watch a live preview fill in, and change things by chatting. When it looks right, Put it online publishes it to a vibedreams.ai address with HTTPS for 5 credits, and you can add your own domain with a TXT and a CNAME record. The code is yours to download as a ZIP or sync to GitHub. Plans start at $49 a month for 60 credits. Built-in login and database work with one tap, and one-tap payments are coming soon.
AI code editors and agents for developers
Cursor
Cursor is a code editor built around AI chat and agents. Its pricing page lists a Free tier with limited agent and chat requests, Plus at $8 a month (Grok models only), Premium at $30, Super at $100 and Ultra at $200. Pick it if you already work in a code editor and want the AI inside it.
Windsurf
Windsurf began as an AI-first editor. Cognition, the company behind the Devin agent, bought it in July 2025, and windsurf.com/pricing now redirects to Devin's pricing page, which lists a Free plan, Pro at $20 a month and Max at $200 a month, with quotas that refresh daily and weekly. Check what the product is called before you sign up.
Claude Code
Claude Code is Anthropic's coding agent. It runs in your terminal, in a desktop app and in IDEs, reads your project and makes changes across files. It needs a paid Claude plan (Pro, Max, Team or Enterprise) or an API account; the free Claude plan does not include it. It is powerful, but you set up your own project, run it yourself and host it yourself. Our Claude Code for beginners guide covers what that means in practice.
Game makers
Rosebud
Rosebud's Game Creator lets you create, play, remix and share browser games, and it also generates game art and sounds. A free tier gives 8,000 credits a week; Indie Dev is $15 a month.
Astrocade
Astrocade mixes a game arcade with an AI create mode. It is the quickest way to see what other people have made, and its homepage did not list a paid plan when we checked.
VibeDream games
Describe a game and VibeDream builds it with Phaser, ready to play on phones and computers. You get a share link to send to friends. Games and apps use the same credits.
How to choose a vibe coding tool
- You have never coded and want something online this week: start with an app builder that hosts for you.
- You need accounts and saved data today without setup: Base44 or Replit.
- You want the code in a common stack you can hand to a developer later: VibeDream (React + FastAPI) or Lovable (React).
- You are a developer: Cursor, Windsurf or Claude Code, and keep your own hosting.
- You care about cost control: compare how each tool bills. Tokens, credits and quotas behave differently on long projects.
- Read our vibe coding security guide before real users sign in, whichever tool you pick.
