Lovable alternatives, picked by what you are actually building

The right Lovable alternative depends on the project. Here is the pick for a marketing site, an internal tool, a Python-backed app, a game, a native mobile app and a project you want to code yourself, with prices checked October 2026.

Lovable alternatives, picked by what you are actually building

The best Lovable alternatives are different tools for different projects, so start with what you are building. For an internal tool with logins and tables handled for you, Base44. For a web app with a Python backend and hosting in one bill, VibeDream or Emergent. For a game, VibeDream. For an App Store app, a native builder such as Rork or FlutterFlow. For the closest swap of Lovable's chat-and-preview flow, Bolt.new. If you write code, Replit or Cursor. Each section below takes one kind of project and says why the pick beats Lovable for it, and where it does not.

Prices come from each vendor's official pricing page. Checked Oct 2026. Lovable itself starts at $25 a month on Pro for 100 credits, with a Free plan of 5 build credits a day up to 30 a month, so that is the bar each alternative has to clear. Our full Lovable review covers what it does well, which is a lot.

A marketing site or landing page

Honestly, Lovable is already one of the best tools for this, and switching rarely pays off. Its design defaults are strong, and a landing page with generated images costs about 2 credits by its own published example. People leave for two reasons: the Free plan only publishes to up to 10 invited people, and Pro is needed for a custom domain and to remove the badge.

If you want more design control than chat gives you, v0 by Vercel is the step up for React interfaces, with a Design Mode that lets you click and edit elements. Its Free plan allows 7 messages a day and Plus is $30 per user a month. Remember that Vercel's own Hobby hosting is for non-commercial use. If you would rather drag things around on a canvas, a site builder such as Framer fits better than any chat tool; see our Framer review.

An internal tool, tracker or small CRM

Pick Base44. It sets up the database, user accounts and roles for you, which is exactly the part that takes the most prompting in Lovable. Base44 is owned by Wix. Its pricing page lists Free with 25 message credits a month and up to 5 apps, then yearly-billed plans of Starter at $16 a month (100 message credits), Builder at $40 (250), Pro at $80 (500) and Elite at $160 (1,200), each with a separate pool of integration credits for your app's use of built-in services.

The trade-off is portability. Two-way GitHub sync starts on Builder, but Base44's developer docs describe apps that keep relying on the platform for infrastructure and runtime. Treat the export as a copy of your code, not a ready-made way off Base44. More options are in our Base44 alternatives guide.

A web app with a Python backend

This is the project VibeDream is built for, and we make it, so judge the claims against the facts. Every app gets a React front end and a FastAPI server written in Python. You can read every file in the built-in code editor, download a ZIP or sync to your own GitHub repository, and run it anywhere. Putting the app online costs 5 credits each time you publish or update, and hosting, HTTPS and a your-app.vibedreams.ai address are included under a fair usage policy, so traffic does not drain your building credits the way Lovable Cloud usage can.

What VibeDream does not do yet matters just as much. There is no free plan: All Access Mini is $49 a month for 60 credits and All Access is $97 for 150. Built-in login and database work with one tap, but one-tap payments are still coming soon. It builds web apps that work in a phone browser, not native apps. Plans are on the pricing page.

Emergent is the other Python-flavoured option. Its pricing page lists Free with 10 credits a month, Standard at $20 a month ($17 billed yearly) for 100 credits and Pro at $200 ($167 yearly) for 750. Third-party reviews report that hosting a live app takes about 50 credits a month from the same balance, which is half of Standard, so check that against your plan before you commit.

A browser game

Lovable is an app and website builder, and a game is not what it is tuned for. VibeDream builds games with Phaser, a game framework for the browser, from the same chat: describe the game, play it in the preview at phone or desktop size, and keep asking for changes until the controls feel right. A first prompt can be as plain as this one.

A one-thumb arcade game for phones. A paper boat dodges rocks on a river that speeds up every 10 seconds. Tap left or right to steer, show the score at the top and a restart button on game over.

Every game you put online gets its own play page with a leaderboard, and other players can remix it into their own version. A general app builder can draw a game screen, but a game framework handles the loop, physics and input for you.

A native app for the App Store or Google Play

None of the chat-to-web builders, Lovable and VibeDream included, ship a native app to the stores. If the store listing is the goal, use a native tool. Rork builds native iPhone and Android apps from a chat, FlutterFlow is a visual builder that generates Flutter code, and Adalo is the gentlest drag-and-drop route. Expect to pay Apple's and Google's developer fees on top. Our FlutterFlow alternatives guide sorts the native options.

The same kind of project, a different tool

If you like Lovable's workflow and only want a second opinion on cost or output, Bolt.new is the closest match: chat on one side, a running project on the other. Its pricing page lists Free with 1M tokens a month and a 300K daily limit, and Pro at $18 a month billed yearly with 10M tokens, rollover and your own domain. Bolt counts tokens rather than credits, and a large project uses more per message because more files are read. See our Bolt.new alternatives for its own trade-offs.

A project you want to code yourself

If you read and write code, a builder will eventually feel like a cage. Replit gives you an AI agent inside a full cloud workspace, with Core at $20 a month ($18 billed yearly) and Pro at $100, each including usage credit for its models. An AI editor such as Cursor keeps the work on your own machine and repository. Either way, you take on the setup and hosting decisions Lovable made for you. Our Replit alternatives page compares the coding options.

Before you switch, move these three things

  • The code. Connect Git sync in Lovable, which works on every plan, and push to a repository you own.
  • The data. Lovable Cloud tables live apart from the code, so export them from the database view, or from your own Supabase project if you connected one.
  • The secrets. API keys do not travel with the repository. List every key the app uses, then add them in the new tool. In VibeDream they go under the gear (Settings) above the preview.

Then rebuild or import, test every screen with a second account, and only move your domain once the new version works.
